Muitaventura takes you to one of the most beautiful places on Serra de Sintra, 463 m high rich in sacred tradition y archeological traces.
Saint Eufémia is one of the oldest noble places of early settlers in 4000 b.c
A symbol of Roman occupation, with traces all around Sintra, and a reference point in the crusade chronics in 1147. Back then, the water from the fountain was considered as having healing powers, curing even people sick with heavy cough. It was a big enough reason to create the small chapel that still exist today. A prove of their devotion is that the square that surround the temple is a leisure area, with a bandstand.
Tradition:
On Good Friday, the people from S. Pedro used to gather in Saint Eufémia to socialize and have a meal of sea food from the beaches of Sintra.
Trail:
Exiting from Feira de S. Pedro Square, by the narrow road, surrounded by walls and beautiful houses and villas, passing by the S. Pedro Fountain, the steep walk is the big physical challenge of the day.
By the end of the climb we can view a fantastic landscape, from Cascais to Mafra, in the lookout points of Saint Eufémia.
After such beauty you will forget about the effort you just made.
Through green trails, the path goes until Saint Maria's church, another must-see spot in Sintra.
